Alongside sound design and production work, I also design and build synth modules, experimental MIDI controllers, sensor-based instruments and custom audio interaction systems.

My interest sits somewhere between music technology, sound art, synthesis, physical computing and performance design, creating devices that move beyond traditional keyboards and control surfaces into more tactile, reactive and unpredictable forms of interaction.

Current projects include custom MIDI controllers, modular synths and experimental input devices designed around motion, touch, proximity, pressure and environmental sensing. These systems are being developed not only for DAW control and music production, but also as expressive performance tools for generative music systems, procedural audio environments and immersive multimedia work.

I’m particularly interested in how physical gesture and sensor data can influence generative engines in real time, allowing sound systems to evolve dynamically through movement and interaction rather than fixed sequencing alone. These ideas extend into hybrid workflows involving hardware synthesisers, modular systems, custom MIDI processing and interactive sound design tools including Krotos Studio.

Many of these devices are also designed to interface with visual systems and installation environments, including integration with Resolume Avenue for reactive visuals, projection work and live multimedia performance. The broader goal is to blur the boundaries between controller, instrument, sound design system and installation object, creating environments where audio, visuals and physical interaction become tightly interconnected.

Some of the most exciting moments often come from the unexpected behaviours these systems produce, where human performance, generative logic and environmental input begin to influence one another in ways that feel organic, unstable and alive.
